Everyday Rails

Everyday Rails is 15 years old!

By Aaron Sumner, May 18, 2025.

May 19, 2025 marks Everyday Rails’s fifteenth birthday!

I shared the origin story five years ago, in a tenth birthday post. Since then, I redesigned the site (I still like how it looks), and wrote a few posts that you seemed to like:

I also announced a fully-updated version of the book spun from this site, Everyday Rails Testing with RSpec. The latest updates are almost done, and are free for anyone who’s ever bought a copy through Leanpub. And through May, this link to the book gets you your own lifetime copy for just $9.

The future

I’ve got plans for expanding Everyday Rails beyond the traditional blog format it’s used since day one. I’m hoping to build and expand my mailing list (since that’s the thing these days), but don’t worry–it won’t be yet another Substack.

In the meantime, thank you for all of your support over the years. I appreciate you!

Follow along on on Mastodon or Bluesky to keep up-to-date with my latest posts. Better yet, subscribe to my newsletter for updates from Everyday Rails, book picks, and other thoughts and ideas that didn't quite fit here.

Test with confidence!

If you liked my series on practical advice for adding reliable tests to your Rails apps, check out the expanded ebook version. Lots of additional, exclusive content and a complete sample Rails application.
